Meet Maddy

Madeline Wright is a professional dance artist based in New York City, originally from Toronto, Canada. She is a graduate of Point Park University, where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance. Madeline began her professional career under the direction of Tony Award–winning choreographer Sonya Tayeh and has since cultivated a significant presence within the New York dance community.

Most recently, Madeline was a member of the originating cast of Life & Trust, an immersive off-Broadway theatre production co-choreographed by The Kuperman Brothers. Her broader performance career includes engagements with a range of esteemed choreographers and companies, including Akira Uchida, Dolly Sfeir, Jenn Freeman, Chelsea Thedinga, and NVA&Guests. In addition to her performance work, she has produced original choreographic works for both stage and film. Notably, she co-created Full Stop. Start Again., a work developed in collaboration with Akira Uchida and Josh Strmic. Some of Madeline's commercial credits include assisting in choreography and movement direction for brand campaigns with clients such as Neiman Marcus and Holt Renfrew.

Beyond her contributions as a performer and creator, Madeline is a committed and passionate educator, teaching across the United States and Canada at respected institutions for youth and pre-professional dancers. Her choreographic voice is an accumulation of the knowledge and experience gained through process-driven work with a diverse range of artists. Deeply influenced by jazz, hip-hop, contemporary, acting, and improvisation, her work reflects a multifaceted and evolving artistic identity.
